4.5th blade [Action; FOURTH WALL EVENT]
[The first change Veronica noticed was in her hands, specifically the tips of her fingers. The needles; the ones that injected the paralyzing poison that also fought regenerative effects. They were back, sticking out of the tips of her scarred fingers just enough to be noticeable if you were looking right at them.
Everything was back. Her eyes were seeing in infrared again, her muscles were already feeling stronger. The urge to just... jump up and down with joy was not one Veronica felt before, but dammit all if she wasn't excited about this.
She had to get out.
Everything seemed brighter somehow, as she walked down paths and streets, feeling what little snow there currently was crunching underneath her boots. It wasn't that cold, she had her cloak on. She didn't care about it anyways, she was too happy about this.
She wanted to do so much. Breathe fire, jump off a building and land unharmed, fight with any foe and come out on top.
But, for now, she'd settle for slicing through the trees that dotted the random routes like they were butter with the multiple swords the poked out from under her cloak. She'd also even do a little training with her Pokemon. Sword fighting with her Honedge, some hand-to-hand combat with Greninja. They seemed just as happy to see Veronica in such high spirits.
There was also an urge, almost overwhelming, to fight someone. She missed doing that, and there was no way that she'd let this moment go to waste.]

I am here. I don't know where here is, but I am here. It's nice to see a familiar face.

Veronica took in the scent hungrily. She missed it.]
Yeah, it really is... [She let the hug go on for a little longer before she broke off, looking up at the woman's face, or where it should have been.] Uhh, it's a long story. So, this world... [She gestured to the area around them, probably.] Isn't our world.
no subject
Are you OK? You seem distressed.
[Despite the hug being broken Adorea remained close enough that they could reach out and touch if need be.]
It's a nice place wherever it is.
no subject
Uhh, yeah, it's pretty nice around here. It's going to be winter soon, too. But...
[she shifted from one foot to another.] I... I haven't seen you in months, Adorea. Or Fran.
no subject
[And just like that there was an air of weight between them. Veronica may have never been the most sociable in the house but everyone knew her all the same and Adorea had grown particularly fond of her during their time spent in school.
Without another word she stepped forward and hugged Veronica close again]
I'm sorry that happened to you. I would miss you dearly if I were taken away somewhere for months.
[Adorea rarely exaggerated, so these words were earnest and heartfelt]
no subject
Not too awkward though. At least she was with a friend now.]
....It's, uh, not your fault. There's no way you did this, Adorea. I just woke up... in this place, a few months ago, and I haven't been able to go home yet.
[She could feel the honesty in Adorea's voice. It was nice, almost soothing.]
It's just, so weird that you're here. I can't believe it.
no subject
You may pinch me if you like to prove it's not a dream.
[Because even with those needles Veronica probably couldn't damage Adorea too much. Not in a permanent way. It would take actual effort for the incredibly efficient killing machine that was veronica to harm the surprisingly resilient and stretchable body of Adorea.]
How often does this sort of thing happen?
no subject
[What with no way to tell what might happen if she did, and with the likely possibility that Fran wasn't around, Veronica wanted to play it as safe as she could.]
Uhh... It doesn't happen. I mean, I've never experienced anything like this before. But, there's a lot that does happen around here.
no subject
And that thing...is it normal around here?
no subject
Yeah. It's a type of Pokémon. They're everywhere in this place, they're the local wildlife, and people use them for everything.
[She shrugged her shoulders.] Including battling.
no subject
When I woke up it was on my back and it seems to like me.
[Which was interesting for her because some animals just hated her instinctively as being an abomination of science.
no subject
Ah... I think that's a Tentacool. It's a water type Pokemon.
[....Obviously.]
no subject
They have types? Like species?
no subject
[She adjusted her drawstrings sheepishly.] It's kind of like a video game here. But, you get used to it.
no subject
If it's not a bother to you, I'd like to stick close to you. I know you prefer to work alone but...well I think Fran would prefer it this way.
[Appealng to the one who clearly knows what she's doing.]
no subject
[She's not expecting the bow, obviously. It flusters her a little, in a way she's not entirely sure of. W2g Adorea.
It brings a smile to her lips, at least. She was so happy to see a familiar face that she didn't even mind.]
Sure! I would like that, actually. I-I haven't had anyone from home around in a while...
no subject
Thank you. I'm OK on my own at home...but I don't think I'd feel safe without you in a strange place so far from home.
[Veronica took care of problems and Adorea cleaned up the mess. That was how life was supposed to be wasn't it?]
no subject
T-that's fine. We'll figure something out, okay?
[Her eyes widen suddenly.]
You could stay with me and Juniper. I mean, if she says yes.
no subject
[it took her a minute to process meanwhile the tentacool has gone back to the water with a noisy splash]]
Who is Juniper?
no subject
[Weird. It's not every day that she got a friend. It's weird.]
She's letting me stay with her for a while.
no subject
I'm glad to hear you've been making friends.
Fran always hoped you would.
no subject
...A shame it always ended poorly.]
Yeah, me too. I knew I had to try, so I'm going to keep trying my hardest!
no subject
I think...you've always been very likable. You'd have lots of friends back home...but the world is....unforgiving.
[Indeed it seemed like every time Adorea had ever seen Veronica start to get ahead the world pulled the rug out from under her]
Have you had any...incidents?
[By which she meant violent murders that normally Adorea would have been tasked with cleaning up]
