[It's morning, and from the position of the screen, it's clear that it's outside somewhere. It's zoomed in on a terribly scarred hand. In the palm of said hand, is a badge. It stays focused on the badge for a few seconds before the hand then moves away; the screen moved away with it, blurring out until it finally settles on Veronica's semi-happy face.

Considering how her last few posts had been her resenting the world around her, and suffering because of it, this was a step up.]

So, everyone is after these badges, huh? Frankly, I'm surprised how much I had to go through to get it. A few of my Pokémon ended up fainting...

[She continued to look the bad over for a second, and it almost looks like she's about to say something else until something peculiar happens. Veronica's cheeks are abruptly squished, the corners of her lips pushed up by invisible fingers to make it look as though she was smiling more than she was.

Sufficed to say, she is very surprised by this. So, obviously the right thing to do in this situation is to struggle against whatever had her by the face. To the viewers, at least, the answer comes when a set of floating eyes appear behind Veronica's head, looking straight at the screen for a second until a full, purple body forms around them. It was 2shade, one of her new ghost Pokémon. She giggles childishly and finally lets go of her new trainer, floating around her. Come on, new trainer! Smile because you did something good!]

...O-oh. Two-shade. [Veronica released a breath. There was never going to be a time where she'd be complete okay with having more ghost Pokémon.]

Anyways... I managed to get the badge, but I don't know how I can get that Hidden machine people talk about. Does anyone know where I can get one? Or one I could borrow, I suppose.

Oh, that's the badge that lets you fly. So you must want the Fly HM, right?

Congrats on getting your badge, Veronica! Sounds like you want Fly! Joker let me borrow his and teach it to Inferno, but if I remember correctly you can actually get it when you beat Chuck in Cianwood City!

By the way, who's your friend there?

If that's what it's called, yeah. I don't really want to travel all the way back to Goldenrod by foot.

You're kinda out of luck, then. The only places you can get the HM are way farther away from you than Goldenrod.

Better start liking the idea of hoofing it.

I think they evolve through trading. They're apparently very powerful Pokémon.

[2shade giggles happily and waves back at Jimmy. Hello! You look really tall! She floats behind Veronica as she's speaking, quietly lifting her trainer's hat off to play with her hair.]

She, uh, has a brother too. I got two pokemon from this guy.

[And they're both... ghosts. Why.]

[Just let her. Look through her pokegear for the map...

Yup. Loooooooots more walking than just Goldenrod.

Those places are on the other sides of the damn continent! And there's water in the way for both! How am I supposed to get to these places?

...Why don't you just buy something that knows Fly already?

Well they sure do look cool, that's for sure!

....I'm kind of in debt, and I don't know if I would be able to get a pokemon that knows fly in the first place.

I've found it easier just to get a Pokemon that knows Fly to begin with.

Meanwhile, 2shade seems more than content to block out the conversation as she went about putting hairclips in her new trainer's hair so she could be cute too. Veronica, surprisingly, didn't seem to notice.]

Hmm.... Everyone's been telling me that i should go to Cianwood or Safferon to get the HM. And I don't know anyone who would let me borrow theirs.

For now - turns out I like it here. It's pretty slow most of the time compared to what I'm used to, but I like talking to the people at the Gym.
